Presupposing that the main objective of a sustainable social development is the improvement of life quality, the objective of this research was to analyze the concrete life quality level of the women’s beneficiaries from the microcredit program of the Pró-Sertão. The study was accomplished by means of questionnaires applied to 85 women representing 20% of the feminine population, who are beneficiary of this short revolving credit, spatially distributed in seven counties of the Sergipe State. The results showed that the life quality measured was objectively affected by either the inadequate access to services and health aids or by financial limitations. Women’s level of satisfaction was mostly associated to human relationship aspects. From the statistical point of view, for the occurrence of an improvement in life quality it would be necessary a more favorable expectation to the microcredit. So, it was concluded that for its higher effectiveness, it needs a financing program more adapted to the reality of those women’s life.
