In this paper we constructed an Index of Degradation (ID), in order to make up a map of devastation levels faced by counties in all Brazilian Northeastern States. The methodology used to construct ID was multivariate analysis and we used economic, social and biological indicators. Based on results, we found out that 62.6% of searched counties are at least 80% degraded. We also found out that Bahia is the most depredated State in Northeast and that 7,6 million of people are living in areas affected by degradation level over 60%.
