EXPORTAÇÕES DO NORDESTE DO BRASIL: CRESCIMENTO E MUDANÇA NA ESTRUTURA

Abstract

This work intends to identify the Northeast products which are more competitive in the international trade. The paper quantifies revealed comparative advantage indexes and analyses the structure of foreign trade. The results show that the Northeast has gained comparative advantage in some manufactured products. At the same time, the factor intensities show increasing share of the capital-intensive goods and low share of laborintensive. The paper also analyses the international demand for some regional products. The Northeast exports performance, reflects also the effects of the commercial policies, commercial barriers and preference system of international trade.
