Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss the transformations having on the regional development theories, while at the same time trying to establish a link between the regional approach and the Theory of Endogenous Growth towards the building of the concept of endogenous development. Such broader concept seeks the formulation of a model of sustainable development for the Brazilian regions. The author also analyses the new role of the Federal State and of the states, and formulates strategies for development
