PUBLIC POLICIES AGAINST THE COVID-19 EFFECTS: NOTES ABOUT EMERGENCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME IN SANTA CATARINA STATE

In this article I analyse the evolution of emergency support programme in 2020 and 2021, with focus in the Santa Catarina State. This programame was created in march 2020 with objective to combate the negative effects provoked by the new corona vírus. In these years the programme was changed two times, and it was finally extinguished in december 2021. After a brief historical overview of programme, I present the main information and programme results in the country, and also in the Santa Catarina State. The main conclusions of the the paper shows that the programme was a little effective in the first phase, in spite of the all weakness to reduce the pandemic impacts in the poverty people. However, with the absence of more focus actions, the positives impacts were quickly losted, specially in the first semestre of 2021 when the most dangerous wave of Covid-19 tooke a part in the country.
