The Northeast is repositioning itself within the national context in recent decades. While it retains significant marks of its historical trajectory, it is experiencing a positive moment alongside relevant disruptions. This becomes even more significant in a world immersed in a major environmental crisis and undergoing profound political, economic, and sociocultural transformations. Highlighting key continuities and identifying ongoing changes in the Northeast—while engaging with global macrotrends—is the central objective of this paper.
