Essa resenha destaca algumas referências bibliográficas clássicas que, juntas, compõem uma abordagem alternativa à teoria das falhas de mercado para o entendimento do papel dos Bancos Públicos de Desenvolvimento. Essa abordagem, aqui denominada “Abordagem Histórico-Institucional” (AHI), justifica a diversidade institucional existente entre Bancos Públicos de Desenvolvimento (Public Development Banks) e enfatiza desafios macroeconômicos e estruturais de países em desenvolvimento.
