This paper has the intention of analyzing the interdependence between the changes at work relationship and the technological level modification in the agricultural sector of São José do Belmonte-Pernambuco. The methodology adopted corresponds to the “study case” with a subsequent descriptive analysis of facts, utilizing primary and secondary information. The results obtained by the research demonstrated that agrarian organization of this municipality presented many stages of development, not only relating to the differences into production process implemented by irrigation process, but also to the social production organization, characterized by the permanence of the traditional work relationship in the capitalist context. The “technification” of agriculture has been imposing a diversification on the rural work market. Traditional work relationship subsisted along with the employed workers, according to determined cultivation and irrigation technologies. This diversification can be explained by the search of rationality at the application of rural labor in order to make the capital accumulation possible.
