The present article studies a modern technique of administration known as “Supply Chain Management”. This technique consists in
that the component companies of a productive chain join in strategic alliances in the search of reduction of logistics costs and stocks levels. The analysis of this technique is made under two focuses: a) the regulation theory; b) structureconduct-acting, with the neoschumpeterian contributions. The regulation theory is exposed in general, as a counterpoint of the structure-conduct-acting and its main critics. Starting form these views it searches answers to two questions about the impacts : Will the technique become standard among the companies?, Can the competition patterns be affected by the introduction of this technique?. Finally, it concluded that both theories need a complete explanation to the “SCM”.
