The global egg market is expected to grow around 2% per year through 2026, with expansion concentrated in emerging markets. In Brazil, the greater availability of inputs has favored poultry farmers’ profitability, stimulating production. With the worldwide spread of Avian Influenza cases, Brazilian exports of eggs and egg products have gained ground, to the U.S. and Mexico, accumulating, through September, revenue 106.26% higher than in the same period of 2024. However, shipments of poultry genetic material dropped 50% in the country and 35.45% in the Northeast from January to September 2025. Likewise, regional exports of table eggs also declined in volume (-16.84%) and in revenue (-24.43%). For 2025, consumption is expected to reach 288 eggs per person, up 7.1% compared to the previous year. The number of housed birds increased, reaching 214.6 million heads in Q2 2025. The Northeast follows the same trend of growth in housing. Production in Brazil, considering Q2 2025, advanced by 6.19%, and in the Northeast, by 9.29%, following the upward trend in consumption. Considering Q2 2025, the region accounts for 18.43% of national egg production and 16.19% of national housing.
